
On April 25, 2009 GIA organized “Mongol General” day for the 65th anniversary of the foundation of the General rank in Mongolia.
On April 28, 1944, for the first time in Mongolia, 11 people were awarded by General rank. As of today, this number has increased up to 146 people. Currently, 33 Generals are working in different government organs and agencies of Mongolia and 44 Generals are retired.
Generals born from the Ministry of Defense, General Staff of the Armed Forces, National Emergency Management Agency, General Border Protection Organization, General Executive Department of the Court Decision, General Civil Aviation Agency, General Police Department, General Intelligence Agency, and Minister and heads of the those organs, leaders of the “General” center participated in the anniversary activity and paid respect to the Chingis Khaan monument in the Sukhbaatar square and to the nine white flags placed in the State Ceremony Palace. R. Bold, Director of the GIA, made an opening speech at the Culture Center of the GIA and conferred medal “For Security” and souvenirs on Generals.
Participants of the ceremony enjoyed watching counter intelligence officers’ performance, “Mongolian Soldiers in Iraq” documentary film made by the Defense Ministry, exhibit showing history and activity of the GIA, and mini-exhibition of archive photos and documents of Generals. |
